Combined Hamptons Roads and Central VA Legislative Reception #2

When

10/13/2020
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Event Type

VCNP Tidewater Region Legislative Receptions

This year, in lieu of our annual Nursing Legislative Reception, the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners (VCNP), in addition to many other statewide nursing organizations, have partnered with the Virginia Nurses Association (VNA) to present 12 online Advocacy Hours events throughout September, October, and November.
Participants will learn about Nursing’s 2021 Public Policy Platform, hear from their local legislators and chapter leaders. Participants will be able to ask questions related to the upcoming General Assembly Session and virtually network with nurses in their area. You do not need to be a VCNP or VNA member to attend these free events, but you must register to receive the meeting link.
We encourage all members to support and join in these events so we can present nursing’s public policy issues to legislators, together! This is an optimal opportunity for your concerns to be heard!

EVENT DETAILS & RECEPTION GUIDELINES
Based on guidance from VNA lobbyists and feedback from legislators, VNA has modified how this year’s Legislative Receptions will be offered.
  • Group meetings will be smaller and separated by members of the House and Senate
  • On your registration forms you may submit questions ahead of time. You also will be able to send questions during the meetings using the chat option.
Virtual Reception, Technology, and Conduct Requirements
  • VNA will be providing Technology support, managing meetings, and monitoring the chat feed.
  • Each registrant will be required to acknowledge that they have read and agree to abide by VNA’s code of conduct for events. This is important for online events with legislators where topics may get heated.
  • VCNP leaders will actively be engaged in our area’s legislative
    receptions and to provide welcome.
  • Visual presentations on Nursing’s Public Policy Platform will be shared.
