VCNP Connect

COMING SOON!

Welcome to vcNP Connect, VCNP’s communications platform, and our resource for distributing information and connecting membership!

vcNP Connect is a ListServ type engagement tool and member benefit that allows members to connect using information in your member profile.

The network is divided into general and dedicated discussion forums. These virtual communities are accessible through the VCNP website’s secure member login. These forums are designed to foster professional engagement, knowledge-sharing, and networking among VCNP members based on association function, common areas of practice, or interest.

Members are automatically connected with the various communities (or ListServs) to receive messages in real time. There are options to receive one message a day (Daily Digest), which includes all messages sent, or members can opt-out of receiving messages (don’t miss out!).

Members shall use the forums for the following purposes.

  1. Help one another. Share successes, questions, challenges, and resources. Share clinical perks, best practices, advocacy updates, and professional resources. Seek support and feedback on work, procedure, business, etc. issues (without violating HIPAA or other regulations).
  1. Make connections. Make the most of this networking opportunity with members across the state. For more information about the forums, including further explanation of the various subscribing options, please contact the AMC.
  1. Grow the VCNP. Engage with other members and grow your professional connections and the value of our association.

USER INSTRUCTIONS:

Forum Organization

VCNP leadership is excited to offer this platform to connect membership. The forums include:

  • All members: This is managed by our association management company.
  • Regional lists: Members can connect with members in their region. Regional leadership will use this resource to distribute regional information, including events. If events are open to the state, the president will distribute the message to staff.
  • Practice Area
  • Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Regional affiliation, practice area, and SIG forum participation is determined by each member’s profile. Members can only be affiliated with one region, but they have the choice to opt in to as many practice area and SIG forums as they desire.

Getting Started

vcNP Connect wants you to connect! Start discussion (or thread) by logging in to vcnp.net. The format is similar to an email platform and your message will be sent to the group. Check out this quick tutorial and get connected now!

Recipients need not login to reply. Rather they can opt to reply to the entire group or the sender only.

Tools

  • Identify community participants by viewing the list of members on the forum landing page.
  • All threads are archived. To search for a previous discussion, enter keywords in the search box and select the “search” button.
  • Any attachments are automatically stored in the “library” unique to that forum and accessible at any time. To search, enter keywords in the search box and select the “search” button.

Prohibited posts

Members shall not use the forums for the following purposes. The VCNP offers many of these resources outside of the discussion forums. Disclaimer notice

As Approved by VCNP Board of Directors

A VCNP forum or discussion post is an e-mail that any recipient can easily forward to anyone in the world. For this reason, VCNP cannot guarantee the confidentiality of forum or discussion posts. While information shared on the forums is helpful to VCNP members, if information is sensitive, the best way to protect that information is to (i) exercise caution in writing and posting forum or discussion posts and (ii) respond directly to the sender rather than to the entire forum or discussion group.

In addition, please note that VCNP has four main membership forums. The first, NP Membership Forum, consists solely of licensed NP member types. The second list, Retired Membership Forum, consists solely of retired NP member types. The third list, Student Membership Forum, consists solely of student member types. The fourth, All Members Forum, consists of all active members. Members can only send messages within their membership type.

Discussion posts within a smaller community, e.g., committee or practice group, will only be sent via email to those who are members of the community.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving VCNP information? Let’s get this fixed!

  • Check your email settings: Login, click XX, forum directory, contact preferences
  • Whitelist the email specific to your forum(s): talk with your IT department
  • Use the VCNP JOBS POSTS email as your guide. At minimum, VCNP sends this email each Friday. If you are not receiving this email, please contact staff.
  • Check the calendar to see if your region has events posted and compare to emails received. If you are not receiving any regional information, please contact staff.
